Lawrence David Guth is a professor of mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.〔http://math.mit.edu/people/profile.php?pid=1461〕 He has previously worked at 〔http://www.nyu.edu/about/leadership-university-administration/office-of-the-president/office-of-the-provost/redirect/faculty/new-faculty/new-faculty-2011-2012/courant-institite-of-mathematical-sciences.html〕 the New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Guth received his Ph.D. in 2005 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the supervision of Tomasz Mrowka.〔.〕 He won an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship in (2010 ). He was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in India in 2010, where he spoke about systolic geometry.〔(Fall newsletter 2010 ), Univ. of Toronto mathematics department, retrieved 2011-05-26.〕〔(ICM listing of invited speakers ), retrieved 2011-05-26.〕 In 2015 he received the Clay Research Award.〔(Clay Research Award 2015 )〕 In his research, Guth has strengthened Gromov's systolic inequality for essential manifolds〔(Guth's approach to Gromov's systolic inequality ), Shmuel Weinberger, July 18, 2009.〕 and, along with Nets Katz, found a solution to the Erdős distinct distances problem.〔.〕 His wide-ranging interests include the Kakeya conjecture and the systolic inequality. He was awarded one of the 2016 New Horizons in Mathematics prizes. He is the son of physicist Alan Guth known for the theory of Inflation in cosmology and the nephew of Lucille Guth, a social worker. ==Work== *Metaphors in systolic geometry: (the video ) *. *. *. *. *. *. *. * 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Lawrence David Guth is a professor of mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.http://math.mit.edu/people/profile.php?pid=1461 He has previously worked at http://www.nyu.edu/about/leadership-university-administration/office-of-the-president/office-of-the-provost/redirect/faculty/new-faculty/new-faculty-2011-2012/courant-institite-of-mathematical-sciences.html the New York University's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.Guth received his Ph.D. in 2005 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the supervision of Tomasz Mrowka..
